Over 9000 craftsmen around the country have tested their technical background and skills in the 8 editions of the now traditional competition, with spectacular awards. Out of thousands of contestants, the best 100 reach the semi-finals, and only 10 on stage where they use all their weapons to fight for the final trophy, the grand prize of the competition: a car! Apart from that, thousands of euros and other surprise prizes!<\/p>\n

HOW DO YOU ENTER THE RACE?<\/span><\/div>\n

The first stage is an online challenge on the official site, www.mecaniculanului.ro, where the participants solve a preliminary test. The first 50 in each category qualify for the finale, where, for a full day, they will sit a written test and undergo a practical challenge.<\/p>\n

In the AUTO MECHANICS section, after the written test, two finalists have to execute, at the same time, a mechanical operation on an engine installed on a stand, in maximum 20 minutes.

The jury is formed by the trainers of the Auto School for Mechanics, professionals with thousands of training hours supplied to mechanics and diagnosticians in Romania, and who form trainers all around Europe.<\/p>\n

Some of the winners of the previous editions of the Mechanic of the Year competition are part of the jury.<\/p>\n
